The 2009 World Championships, Aug. 15-23, will be the first major international meet to be held at the Belin Olympic Stadium since the 1936 Olympic Games, where Jesse Owens won four gold medals. The championships will be broadcast in the United States daily on NBC and Versus or you can follow through Twitter. The pole vault event begins on Aug. 20 and the finals are on Aug. 22.
Founded in 1983, the NCAC is commited to equity, a broad base of athletic programs, and excellence in academics and has served as a model for conferences throughout the country. The North Coast membership stretches across Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana: Allegheny, Denison, DePauw, Hiram, Kenyon, Oberlin, Ohio Wesleyan, Wabash, Wittenberg and Wooster and affiliate member Earlham.

Former Gator to Compete at 2009 IAAF World Championships
Jeremy Scott ’03 qualified to become a member of Team USA and compete at the IAAF World Outdoor Championships in Berlin, Germany, after finishing second in the pole vault with a height of 18-10.25 at the 2009 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Scott, the NCAC record-holder in both the indoor and outdoor pole vault events, will represent the US for the fourth time in his career.
