NCAC Swim Teams Set for Thursday's "Hour of Power"

On Thursday the swimming & diving teams at Allegheny, Denison, Kenyon, Oberlin, Ohio Wesleyan, Wabash, Wittenberg and Wooster will join with 88 teams across the country in an “Hour of Power” Relay in honor of former Carleton College swimmer Ted Mullin, who passed away in the fall of 2006 from sarcoma, a rare soft-tissue cancer.

Funds raised through this event support research at the University of Chicago into the causes and treatment of sarcoma in young people. In 2006, 15 teams joined together to raise team spirit, cancer awareness and $11,000. Last year, the number of participating teams climbed to 53, including 46 college and university programs, four high school and three club teams – all combining to raise over $43,000 for the fund.
