Allegheny is the host for next week's NCAC Swimming & Diving championships at Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio. Did you know Allegheny has a long history of hosting meets?
The first NCAA DIII Swimming & Diving Championships were hosted by Allegheny at Mellon Pool, March 19-22, 1975. Chico State took the team title and the Gators finished ninth.
In 1980, Allegheny hosted the first Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) DIII championship. Two years later, the Gators hosted what would be the last AIAW meet before the organization merged with the NCAA.
