Wittenberg Alumna Betty Dillahunt Receives National Honor

Betty Dillahunt, Wittenberg class of 1946 and emeritus director of women's athletics, was recently honored for her enormous contributions to women's sports. She was chosen to receive the Ohio – National Association for Girls and Women in Sports (NAGWS) Pathfinder Award for 2008.

The award "honors those women who have been instrumental in blazing paths for the future of girl's and women's sports through their leadership and tireless efforts."

Dillahunt will receive the award at the Awards Luncheon of the Ohio Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on Thursday, Nov. 29. She also will receive recognition at the National Association for Girls and Women in Sports General Session/Awards Luncheon in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday, April 11, 2008.

We wrote about Betty earlier this summer when Wittenberg posted a fascinating interview with her on their website. She is certainly a role model who has paved the way for the women athletes of the NCAC.
